As 2023 comes to a close, we reflect on a year of significant impact and progress for Kelly+Partners, shaped by our clients and team.
We welcomed 178 new team members and 24 partners, formed new partnerships with 6 accounting firms and welcomed many new clients, broadened our global presence with new international locations in the US and Mumbai and supported many great local causes and events.
Our clients, the heart of our mission, continue to inspire us with their resilience and commitment to improving the lives of their team members, clients and bettering their local communities.
We embrace the lessons learned and our achievements, setting our sights on an even more ambitious 2024.

In late February, we brought together over 500 team members at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground for our Annual Kick-Off. The event, filled with guest speakers and interactive sessions, focused on aligning and energising our team for the year ahead.
This year, our partnership group grew significantly with the addition of 24 new partners. These talented individuals joined us from diverse locations, including Griffith, Central Coast, Bundall, North Sydney, Northern Beaches, Southern Highlands, Melbourne CBD, Southern California and Mumbai.
This year, we welcomed 178 new team members into the group, growing our headcount to more than 500 professionals across 32 locations.
Kelly+Partners celebrated its 17th anniversary this year, marking a journey that began with founder Brett Kelly in a small North Sydney office in 2006. Each of our offices commemorated this milestone in their unique ways.
We celebrated our most significant awards night in August at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay. Over 500 team members joined us for an evening filled with festivities, including dancing, socialising, and the much-anticipated awarding of the gold and silver calculators to our standout performers. Adding to the night's excitement was a marriage proposal.
In September, our annual Partners retreat took place in Melbourne. This event saw 94 partners from 32 offices come together for two days filled with learning, information sharing, networking, and fun. A standout moment was the presentation by special guest speaker James A. King, a world-leading performance expert and author who provided valuable insights and inspiration.
In December, we hosted our Business Managers at the Langham Hotel in Sydney for an engaging day of learning, sharing insights, networking, and having fun. These training sessions are vital for collaboration with our top talent, focusing on skill enhancement. The goal is to equip our team with new knowledge and skills, which they can apply to make a meaningful impact in their local offices.
In November, our Mumbai team celebrated Diwali, India's most significant and vibrant festival. Known as the Festival of Lights, Diwali derives its name from the Sanskrit term 'Deepavali', meaning a row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa). These lamps are lit outside homes across India, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and the enduring power of good over evil.
We celebrated a great year in December at the Partner's lunch hosted at the Public Dining Room, Balmoral Beach. This year's event was marked with extra significance as it was the first time we welcomed partners from our newly established Californian-based locations.
This year, we introduced several new items to our merchandise line, including beach towels, hats, and teddy bears. This new range is all about bringing the Kelly+Partners brand into the everyday lives of our team and clients, both locally and internationally, in a fun and engaging way.

In February, we hosted an inspiring client lunch with Lawrence Cunningham, founder of the Quality Shareholders Group and a celebrated author. Known for his expertise in corporate governance and insights into Berkshire Hathaway's culture, Cunningham's works, including "The Essays of Warren Buffett" and "Margin of Trust," offered our clients a deep dive into the world of quality investing and Warren Buffett's strategies.

In May, we joined our clients and thousands of investors at the Berkshire Hathaway Annual General Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. This event offered a masterclass in value investing from Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger and included a special ASX:KPG presentation at the Hollywood Candy store, a favourite of icons like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.

Quarterly, we assess our Net Promoter Score (NPS), a gauge of customer satisfaction. Our latest score is +61, significantly surpassing the industry average of -18. This score, driven by our clients' willingness to recommend us, highlights their trust and satisfaction with our services.
As we expand into Southern California, Kelly+Partners is now one of the only global accounting firms specialising in solving the unique challenges faced by Private Business Owners operating internationally. In November, our Griffith office hosted a welcome cocktail party for over 300 clients to celebrate their partnership with Kelly+Partners. The event featured insightful addresses from Regional Managing Partner John Keenan and Founder Brett Kelly, emphasising partnership and a bright shared future. We're grateful to our clients for their impressive turnout and interest in our business.
We see a significant opportunity to leverage new technologies to improve how we can help clients succeed, while also enhancing their interactions with our team. This year, We started building new digital tools and look forward to sharing them with you in the new year.
In February, we partnered with Meritous Accounting in Brisbane CBD, now known as Kelly+Partners Brisbane CBD. This collaboration enhances our presence in the region, complementing our offices in Bundall and Palm Beach. This strategic move strengthens our network and expands our service offerings in Queensland.
In March, we partnered with QR Accounting, and they joined our existing team in the Melbourne CBD. Our Melbourne office, located on level 29 at 333 Collins Street, offers a newly renovated space with panoramic city views, enhancing our work environment and client experience. In February, Kelly+Partners ventured into the US market by opening a flagship location in Malibu, California, recognising the state's similarities with Australia in business opportunities. We look forward to assisting Australian and US clients in their international ambitions.
Following the successful launch of our flagship location in Malibu in February, we opened our second U.S. office in Newport Beach, California. Famous for its breathtaking scenery, Newport Beach hosts numerous significant corporate headquarters, vibrant tech startups, and thriving health and wellness businesses.
We continued our global expansion by opening a new office in Mumbai, India, offering our team and clients significant benefits from Mumbai's vibrant business culture.
Teefy Wolfe Accounting joined the Kelly+Partners group in July, bringing Luke Wolfe and his team aboard. Based in Bundall at Level 4/27-29 Crombie Ave, the team have served the area for almost 40 years. Alongside our Brisbane CBD and Palm Beach offices, further strengthen our Queensland presence.
In July, we partnered with Pinnacle HPC in Griffith, NSW, one of the largest accounting firms in the Riverina region. It's our pleasure to welcome John Keenan, Geoffrey Marin, Allan Andreazza, Angela Favell, John Farronato, Michael Harris, Karen Smith, Dianne Hicken, Sally Barbaro, Renae Moseley, Yvette Stewart, and their skilled team.
In October, our South West Sydney office unveiled its new fitout, transforming the space into a bright, vibrant hub for both team members and clients. The refreshed space provides an improved environment for collaboration and innovation, reflecting our commitment to creating industry-leading workplace environments.
In December, we completed our inaugural US partnership with the Southern Californian-based firm Landau, Swartz & McCarty LLP (LSM) to become Kelly+Partners Woodland Hills LLP. Partnering with Mike Landau and his team represents a significant step for Kelly+Partners and is a testament to our commitment to expanding in the US market.
In 2023, the Kelly+Partners Scholars Innovation Program celebrated its fifth year, offering Year 10 and 11 students practical, real-world product and service development training. The program, hosted at UNSW Sydney, included interactive training sessions, lectures, and a hands-on mini-project. Top performers were rewarded with an invitation to an international study tour, providing an extraordinary learning opportunity.

In August, our team participated in City2Surf to support Cancer Schmancer's research efforts. Decked out in Nanny-inspired workout gear, we walked and ran from the city centre to Bondi Beach, where we were welcomed by friends, colleagues, and refreshments at the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club, celebrating our contribution to this vital cause.
The beloved 90s sitcom returns in print form with 100% of proceeds being donated to Fran Drescher’s Cancer Schmancer charity. Cancer Schmancer’s mission is to save lives by transforming the nation’s current sick care system into one that focuses on genuine health care. We accomplish this with a three-pronged approach - prevention, early detection and policy change.
Our mission is centred around helping others be better off. Being actively involved in community projects and causes is essential to genuinely and positively impacting our local communities. We're pleased to have supported a collection of fantastic causes this year.
During our annual awards night, we recognise the office that has significantly impacted their local community. This is assessed based on the causes and organisations they support. This year, our South West Sydney team won the award.
In April, our Central Coast office hosted its annual family day for clients and team members at the Australian Reptile Park at Somersby on the Central Coast. Home to over 2,000 animals, the Australian Reptile Park is Australia’s original hands-on zoo.
Kelly+Partners is a long-term supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities, which play a crucial role in aiding children and their families during challenging times of serious illness. Each year, our Western Sydney team donates their time to support their various volunteering opportunities.
Kelly Partners Group Holdings (KPG:ASX) was admitted to the ASX All Ordinaries in March. Established in January 1980, the All Ordinaries is Australia's oldest index of shares. It is made up of the share prices for 500 of the largest companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
In November, The Australian Financial Review announced its annual list of Australia's top 100 accounting firms. This year, Kelly+Partners was ranked as the 21st largest firm. While our vision isn't to be the biggest, our continual rise in the rankings reflects the hard work of our team and the support of our clients.
